One-year MBA
Some schools offer an intensive one-year MBA track. Many European programs are exclusively one-year programs. If you don’t like the idea of giving up two years of income, or if you want to go back to school and then return to the same company or industry, a one-year program may be for you. Because of the shorter duration, many companies are more willing to sponsor employees for one-year programs. Additionally, many are more affordable than their two-year counterparts.
However, in general, one-year programs tend not to be as comprehensive as two-year programs. And if you are trying to change careers, a one-year program may not give you enough of a foundation to pursue another career. Nevertheless, a one-year program is definitely worth looking into, particularly if you want to return to the workforce quickly. Be sure to weigh out all of the options.
