Don’t Go It Alone. Assemble Your Power Team
Preparing for investment banking interviews can be a daunting task. It can help immensely to assemble a group of two or three other aspiring bankers to get through the recruiting process. This is especially feasible if you are a student and are participating in on-campus recruiting.
As a team, you can help each other the following ways:
- Divide and conquer on industry and firm research
- Review each others’ resumes
- Give mock interviews to each other
- Provide each other with moral support
- Open doors for each other if one member is more successful than the others
- Split costs (e.g. hotel, etc.) by traveling to informationals and career treks together.
Tips for assembling your team:
- Pick members with the same level of dedication to breaking into the field
- Pick members who are willing to share information with other members of the team
- Pick members you like (at least a little) because you will spend a lot of time together
Good luck assembling your team!
