Credentials Document

Often abbreviated as “creds document”, a credentials document is a very initial sales document sent to potential clients so that they can learn more about the investment bank. It is typically put together in the form of a presentation, made up of Powerpoint slides, but is never really presented. It is used primarily as a leave-behind.

The document is meant to introduce the potential client to the bank and sell its capabilities.

Components of a credentials document may include:

  • Overview of the Investment Bank
  • Transaction Process
  • Industry or Market Overview
  • Firm Transaction Experience
  • Recently Closed Transactions / Tombstones
  • Investment Banking Team Biographies
