Accounting and Consulting Firms with Corporate Finance Practices

With the M&A boom, many of the big accounting and consulting firms have begun to perform more investment banking work, typically within the middle market range. Like middle market banks, these firms typically pay below the Street and sometimes emphasize a work-life balance. The downside is that investment banking is usually at the bottom of the totem pole in terms of focus and, therefore, is underemphasized. Part of the reason for this is the conflict of interest of having audit and investment banking clients.
